Primate Fiasco rocks Garland School benefit

Thursday February 28, 2013

BRATTLEBORO -- The Garland School will hold its third annual silent auction on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Stone Church, 210 Main St. Primate Fiasco will be there with songs from their Grammy-nominated children’s album "The Wheels on the Bus."

Primate Fiasco has played in Brattleboro numerous times in different venues to varied audiences, but this is their first show in the Brattleboro area geared to an audience of both big and small kids. You have never heard "Wheels on the Bus" or "On Top of Spaghetti" performed like this. The Primate Fiasco uses the instrumentation of a New Orleans street band (Sousaphone, banjo, brass, woodwinds, drums) but plays music that you wouldn’t expect.

Among the items up for auction are a one-week stay at an Adirondack lake house, artwork by local artists and cord of firewood. All proceeds go to the non-profit Garland School, an independent nursery and kindergarten program that follows the principles of Waldorf education. Admission is $5 for children, $10 for adults and $20 for the whole family. The Garland community will provide food and drink. For more information, contact Andrew Shepard at 802-380-2537.
