Putney Family Services appoints new executive director

PUTNEY >> Dylan Devlin, president of the board of Putney Family Services, recently announced the appointment of Kate Kelly as Executive Director.

"We are delighted that Kate has joined the organization as our new Executive Director," Devlin said. "Her rich background in human services positions her to be particularly helpful in the Putney community right away."

Kate Cleghorn, the vice president of Putney Family Services, agreed.

"We welcome Kate's positive energy and experience," Cleghorn commented. "She already knows so much about resources that she can help families access."

Kelly worked for 10 years as a family counselor at Youth Services in Brattleboro, helping families in crisis. She said that she is looking forward to her new role.

"I enjoy talking to people ," she said. "I like the feeling that I can make people feel comfortable while helping them solve problems."

Putney Family Services collaborates with other local agencies to offer a variety of programs and referral services to local families. Its mission is to "encourage the healthy development of the children of Putney and to support families and the greater community in improving the lives of their children."

Kelly replaces Patricia Field, who was terminated in February after an investigation by the Windham County Sheriff's Office determined she had embezzled money from the non-profit agency. She is scheduled to appear court on July 14.
