Putney Fortnightly Club dedicates restored bench

Submitted photo

The Putney Fortnightly Club presented the Town of Putney with a newly refurbished bench on April 25. The bench was originally a gift to the town celebrating the club’s 100th anniversary in 2003. The bench, located at Town Hall for the use of residents, was refurbished by craftsman Richard Taylor. The Putney Fortnightly Club is the oldest social organization in Putney. It is founded on the principles of friendship and service to the community. Pictured in the photo taken at the dedication are: Back row, left to right, Carol Bryant, Richard Taylor (craftsman), Meg Harriman, Marion Daley, and Marty Whitney. Seated on the bench, left to right, Hildamarie Hendricks and Thera Hindmarsh.
