"Radical Hospitality" at Dummerston Congregational


DUMMERSTON - Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church is at 9:30 a.m. The Scripture for the day is Scripture: Luke 14:1, 7-14 and Heb 13: 1-2, 5-6. The Sermon is "Radical Hospitality." During the service, Billie Slade will be installed as the new Church School Coordinator. Children begin a new church school year, with younger children learning the story of Jacob and Joseph and older children preparing to receive Bibles. Children begin in worship and then go to their classes. Worship music will be provided by Franz Robert, organist.

This week the church concludes its annual summer food drive for the Drop-In Center Food Pantry. Please give generously to restock their shelves.

Small items for the Dummerston Women’s Grandmother’s Attic on Oct. 13 would be appreciated and may be left at the church .

The Church has been given a lovely Hunter’s Star quilt by Jean Shaw to raffle to raise money for the mission trip to Kenya. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The drawing will be at the Apple Pie Festival in October.

The Annual Meeting of the church will be on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.

The choir under the direction of the Rev. Larrimore Crockett will sing on Sept. 15, with rehearsal Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. New choir members are invited to join the small acapella singing group.
