Rebel girls looking for Aud return

BRATTLEBORO — Six players have returned for the Leland & Gray varsity girls basketball team, which went 16-7 last season and reached the Final 4 for the first time since 1991.

"We are looking forward to getting this year started," stated Rebels coach Terry Merrow.

The first annual Leland & Gray Booster Club's Tip-Off Classic will be held on Dec. 8. The hosts will take on Arlington at 8 p.m.

Kelsi Bostrom, Mariah Hazard, Morgan Stevens, Kassidy Wyman, Maris Linder and Sierra Fillion are the veterans on Merrow's team. Linder, a junior, was given Marble Valley League Division C honorable mention last season.

The Rebels annually hold a Hoops for Hope event, which benefits the Alexis Giallella Scholarship. The event is generally takes place in January and honors Lexy, who died at age 15 after a courageous battle with cancer.
