Rebels cruise into 2nd round
The Townshend team scored seven goals in the first 29 minutes of the bout, sealing the game before the halftime whistle even blew.
Six out of the eight goals from the home team came from freshmen. Riley Barton, Matt Emerson, and Liam Towle all tallied two goals each.
Goal number seven for Leland & Gray was scored by star midfielder Patrick McDonald, and the eighth score for the Rebels came from Aiden McCormack with 1:21 left in the match. It was McCormack's first goal in a varsity uniform.
The Rebel boys will next face fourth-seeded Peoples Academy in the quarterfinals.

MIDDLEBURY — In a playdown game on Wednesday, fifth-seeded Middlebury nipped No. 12 Brattleboro 2-1.
Camden Simpson and JD Goettelmann tallied for the winners, wtih Goettelmann's game-winning shot coming with 12 minutes to go. Ben Turner and Owen Palcsik each set up a goal.
Alex Lier scored for the Colonels, who finished up with a 5-9-1 mark. Brattleboro keeper Emmett Dews made eight saves.
