Recount being held for N.H. state Senate seat

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire election officials will be recounting ballots in a state Senate district covering five communities including part of Manchester.

Incumbent state Sen. David Boutin, a Republican, was named the winner on Election Day with 396 votes more than Democrat Kathleen Kelley. Libertarian Richard Tomasso was a distant third.

Boutin, of Hooksett, has held the District 16 seat for two terms.

The district includes Bow, Candia, Dunbarton, Hooksett and three wards in Manchester.

The recount begins Tuesday morning in the Legislative Office Building in Concord.
