Rev. Amico’s sermon Sunday in W. Brattleboro will be ‘Do Good and Be Rich in Good Works’

WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Sept. 29 is the 19th Sunday after Pentecost at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. The Rev. Joseph Amico will share a sermon entitled "Do Good and Be Rich in Good Works" based on 1 Timothy 6:6-19. Organist and pianist George Soulos will share a prelude of "Rondo Espressive" by Philipp Emanuel Bach and a postlude of "Rondo Allegretto" by J. C. F. Bach. The choir will share an offertory of "Watch and Pray." The congregational hymns this week are "Come, Thou Almighty King," "Fighting the Good Fight," and "We Shall Not Give Up the Fight."

Sunday worship at First Congregational Church is at 10 a.m. preceded by the 9 a.m. choir rehearsal. For a ride to worship call 802-257-4408. Ongoing weekly events include the Prayer Fellowship at 8:30 a.m. Sunday mornings and the Handicraft group on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
