Rev. McFadden’s sermon Sunday will be on ‘Extravagant Generosity’ at Centre Church
BRATTLEBORO -- The Rev. Carra McFadden will lead worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14, at Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro. Her sermon topic is "Extravagant Generosity: A Sign of Excellence," based on the sermon text from 2 Corinthians 9:6-15. Kidz Club meets during worship. Michael Mario is the director of Christian Education.
At 1 p.m. on Sunday the Board of Christian Education invites members and friends to the Gaines Farm Corn Maze on Route 5 South in Guilford. The second session of the film series on issues of social justice will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the parlor, preceded by a potluck supper at 6 p.m. The film is "The Corporation," a 2004 documentary that details the historical development of corporate entities. Silver Bells Sunday is planned for Oct. 21, during which all 25-year plus Centre Church members will be recognized.
