Rev. Robert Hamm’s sermon Sunday in Newfane is ‘Never-failing Love’
NEWFANE -- The First Congregational Church of Newfane will observe the Fourth Sunday of Lent on Sunday, March 10. The Rev. Robert Hamm’s sermon title is "Never-failing Love" with scripture from Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32. Congregational hymns are "O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing," "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" and "Amazing Grace." The choir will sing "Jesus Walked this Lonesome Valley while organist/music director Martha LaMoria will play the prelude "Pilgrim’s Chorus from Tannheauser" by Richard Wagner and the postlude "Procession" by Edvard Grieg, arranged by George Blake.
During the dedication of the new church addition on Feb. 24, the meeting room was named the "Rick Wilson Room" in honor of the man who was primarily responsible for the many years of planning for the addition.
Upcoming events for the week include the Early Education Services Playgroup from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and Al-Anon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday; Sew What’s at 5 p.m. on Tuesday; Monthly Senior Luncheon at noon (corned beef dinner), handbell rehearsal at 5 p.m. and choir rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
