Rev. Rona Kinsley to be preacher Sunday at Centre Congregational

BRATTLEBORO -- The Rev. Rona Kinsley of Irasburg will serve as guest preacher at 10 a.m. worship on the first Sunday of Lent, Feb. 17, at Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro.

Kinsley has served several congregations in northern Vermont and just completed a three-year term as president of the Board of Directors, Vermont Conference, United Church of Christ. The Lenten Sermon Series is "Facing the Cross." Kidz Club will meet in the Christian Education wing under the leadership of Michael Mario, director of Christian Education.

The special offering for February will benefit the Overflow Shelter and the Morningside Shelter. The Drop-In Center is requesting warm blankets and clothing, pillows and sleeping bags. The Centre for Children requests children’s hats and mittens. Donation boxes are located in the main hallway.

Part 2 of the social justice film series of the Peace and Justice Committee will be shown Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 12:30 to 3 p.m., preceded by a potluck in the parlor. The film is "In Debt We Trust," which showcases the impact of debt on society and its young people. All are welcome.
