River Gallery School receives challenge grant

BRATTLEBORO - The River Gallery School of Art has a Scholarship Campaign running through August with a special opportunity to keep art-making possible for everyone in the tri-state area. RGS recently received a generous challenge grant from the Doune Trust Fund: for every dollar contributed to the RGS Scholarship Fund, the Doune Trust will match up to $15,000. Through donations from parents, students and friends, RGS has received over $10,000 and is two thirds of the way to the challenge goal of $15,000. Every year the school raises over $40,000 for tuition aid to keep art classes accessible to the community, with half of all students receiving scholarship funds. To make a donation, send checks to River Gallery School, 32 Main Street, Brattleboro, VT, 05301 or securely on the web, www.rivergalleryschool.org.

RGS Art classes are for every age and ability, with upcoming workshops in watercolor, pastel, oil painting and more. For a full schedule, check the RGS website or call 802-257-1577.
