’All Things Wise and Wonderful’ is Sunday’s sermon at Newfane Church

NEWFANE -- The First Congregational Church of Newfane will celebrate Epiphany at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Jan. 6, along with the sacrament of Holy Communion. The title of the Rev. Robert Hamm’s sermon is "All Things Wise and Wonderful" with scripture from Matthew 2:1-12.

Congregational hymns are "The First Noel," "Wise Men, They Came to Look for Wisdom" and "Go Tell It on the Mountain." The choir will sing "We Three Kings" with special voices throughout the song. The prelude "Lullaby" by W.A. Mozart and the postlude "Festival" by Benton Price will be played by organist/music director Martha LaMoria.

Ongoing events include the Early Education Services Playgroup at 9:30 a.m. and Al-Anon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday; and Sew What’s at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The monthly senior luncheon will be served at noon on Thursday. There will be no Thursday night choir rehearsal. On Friday the Helping Hands group will meet at the church from 4 to 6 p.m.
