’God of Second Chances’ is Rev. Hamm’s sermon Sunday at Newfane Congregational
NEWFANE -- The First Congregational Church of Newfane will celebrate the sacrament of communion at the worship service on Sunday, March 3. The Rev. Robert Hamm’s meditation is titled "God of Second Chances" with scripture from the Gospel of Luke, chapter 13, verses 1-9.
Hymns to be sung by the congregation are "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing," "How Can I Keep from Singing" and "Go, My Children, with My Blessing." The choir will sing the anthem "Come Share the Lord." The prelude, "Now Peace Abides" by David Hegarty, and the postlude "Bourree from Suite XIX" by Leopold Mozart, will be played by Martha LaMoria, organist/music director. Sunday School will commence at 10:15 a.m. with the children returning upstairs for communion.
Events for the upcoming week include the Early Education Services Playgroup from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and Al-Anon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday; Sew What’s at 5 p.m. on Tuesday; Deacons’ meeting at 11 a.m., Trustees meeting at 6:30 p.m. and Church Council at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday; Handbell rehearsal at 5 p.m. and Senior Choir at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday; Helping Hands Group from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday.
