’Harvest Home’ celebration set for Sunday at West Chesterfield Church

Saturday September 29, 2012

WEST CHESTERFIELD, N.H. -- Guest speaker and guitarist Keith Penniman will lead the First Universalist Church of West Chesterfield in its annual "Harvest Home" celebration on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m.

The "Harvest Home" service has become an annual tradition at the church. Adults and children are invited to decorate the church with a small offering of something they have grown, gathered, made, or purchased locally. For example, a vegetable, fruit, wildflower, autumn leaf, acorn, baked good or craft. There will be an opportunity for children to "show and tell." At the conclusion of the service, everyone may take home one of the offerings other than the one they contributed. The public is invited to attend this special service on the first day of the harvest moon.

Penniman is a frequent guest speaker and guitarist for Unitarian Universalist worship services. He received a master of Theological Studies degree from Boston University in 1980.

A children’s religious education class will be offered. Refreshments and fellowship will follow the service. Further information and directions may be found on the church’s website at www.chesterfielduu.org or by calling 603-256-6346.
