CHESTER -- Roland Merullo, author of "Breakfast with Buddha," will talk about his latest book, "Lunch with Buddha," at Misty Valley Books on Saturday at 5 p.m. The public can have Dinner with Buddha -- or rather Merullo -- afterwards at Alice’s Restaurant. Both the bookstore and the restaurant are on the Green in Chester.

The most popular of Merullo’s 10 novels has been "Breakfast with Buddha," a quirky, funny road-trip book with a spiritual and philosophical dimension that has enjoyed wide acclaim. "Breakfast with Buddha" is in its 13th printing.

"Lunch with Buddha" continues the story of Otto and his now brother-in-law, the Buddhist monk Rinpoche, who once again discover themselves on a long road trip, albeit under considerably different circumstances. Otto again gets spiritual guidance and Rinpoche collects further archetypical American adventures.

One reviewer called it "A quiet meditation on life, death, darkness and spirituality, sprinkled with humor, tenderness and stunning landscapes."

A reception and booksigning will follow Merullo’s remarks.

Contact the bookstore at 802-875-3400 for more information and to make reservations to dine with Merullo following his presentation or visit www.mvbooks.com.
