Saturday February 16, 2013

WEST BRATTLEBORO -- All Souls Church Unitarian Universalist invites all to worship Sunday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m. "Share the Love" will be the topic. The Rev. Barbro Hansson will lead the congregation in a celebration of love and justice at the conclusion of Thirty Days of Love, a period for intentional action, service, education, and reflection. This initiative is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Standing on the Side of Love with the goal of harnessing love’s power to stop oppression. All Souls joins with other U.U. congregations around the country which will be holding similar celebrations. Sunday’s worship service will include songs and readings about love, compassion and justice, including an excerpt from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech delivered on Dec. 10, 1964, "The Quest for Peace and Justice."

A capella singers, comprising of the Western Wind and participants, will be present in their 21st Winter Wonderland Workshop at the West Village Meeting House.

The All Souls Adult Choir, under the direction of Ede Thomas, will sing "Hands Across the Aisle," words and music by Georgeann Weaver. So that the children can enjoy the very special music-filled service offered by Western Wind, there are no children’s classes offered this week. All children are invited to stay and partake in this wonderful service with their parents. Nursery care will be provided.
