’Standing on Holy Ground’ is sermon Sunday at First Congregational Church in Newfane


NEWFANE -- The First Congregational Church of Newfane will meet for worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31. The Rev. Robert Hamm’s sermon is titled "Standing on Holy Ground" with scripture from Exodus 3:1- 15. Congregational hymns are "The God of Abraham Praise," "Will You Let Me Be Your Servant" and "Go Down, Moses." Music will be provided by guest organist Peter LaMoria.

The church’s August Missions are the Ministers Relief Fund and the Newfane Children’s Christmas.

Events for the upcoming week include Al-Anon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sew What’s at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Apple pie making at 9:30 a.m., Deacons meeting at 6 p.m., Trustees meeting at 6:30 p.m., and Council meeting at 7:30 p.m., all on Wednesday, and Garden Club at 2 p.m., and Singers and Ringers Social Hour at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
