Saunders is Reformer Athlete of the Week

BRATTLEBORO >> Lucas Saunders, of the Bellows Falls varsity wrestling team, received 101 votes to earn Reformer Athlete of the Week honors for Feb. 21-27.

The 106-pounder finished third in the state meet, behind champion Tyson Sauer of MAU and silver medalist Ben Stewart of Essex. He helped the Terriers place 10th in that event in Clarenden.

"That boy has literally been in the bottom of the pool his entire life, often times being 10 or more pounds under the lowest in his weight class. He has never given up and most often comes up on top," noted Tonja Kendall when voting for Saunders.

The candidates for the Reformer Team of the Season award are listed below, however write-ins are welcome. To vote, simply write the varsity squad that you believe had the best winter as a comment underneath this story on Please only vote once.
