Saxtons River Art Guild exhibits work at library

BRATTLEBORO -- The artwork of the Saxtons River Art Guild members is on display at the Brooks Memorial Library, 224 Main St., through April 29.

The Saxtons River Art Guild was established in 1976 for the purpose of encouraging and stimulating the cultural growth of the arts locally. New members are always welcome. Workshops in oil, watercolor and pastels are offered throughout the year by professional artists. Members meet during the fall and winter months at Open Studio to collaborate working in various media of watercolor, oil and pastels, as well as acrylic, collage and drawings in pen/pencil. Scholarships are awarded annually to local high school students who wish to pursue a career in the arts. Members and guests enjoy bus trips to museums in New England. En plein air (in the open) sessions are held in scenic settings.

Members have displayed art in banks and hospitals in the region as well as scheduled exhibitions.

Stop in at the Library and view the works on display, most of which are for sale.
