Sermon at Centre Church on Sunday is ‘Being the Church: True Conduct’


BRATTLEBORO -- For the Third Sunday in Lent, March 23, the Rev. Carra McFadden will lead 10 a.m. worship at Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro. Her sermon topic is "Being the Church: True Conduct," based on the text from Romans 12:9-21. The Special Offering for March benefits One Great Hour of Sharing, assisting those in need world-wide. Kidz Club meets during worship under the leadership of Michael Mario, Director of Christian Education, focusing on the theme "Miracles."

Christian Huebner, Director of Music, continues the weekly Lenten Study Group at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, followed by a light supper and choir rehearsal. The study theme is "Faith and Theology through Hymns Ancient and Modern."

Centre Church is hosting the meal at the Overflow Shelter, First Baptist Church, 190 Main St., Sunday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The Fund-Raising Committee will sponsor a Progressive Dinner April 12 in three different homes in downtown Brattleboro. Contact Deborah and Stephen Brown at 802-365-7071 for tickets. The Quilting Ministry meets at 1:30 p.m. Thursdays at the home of Gisela Robeck, 63 Green Meadow, West Brattleboro.
