Sermon at Centre Church on Sunday is ‘Being the Church: True Service’


BRATTLEBORO -- The Rev. Carra McFadden will lead 10 a.m. worship Sunday, March 16, at Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro. Her sermon topic on the Second Sunday in Lent is "Being the Church: True Service," based on the Bible text from Romans 12:3-8. Kidz Club will meet during worship under the leadership of Michael Mario, Director of Christian Education, with the theme "Miracles" as the focus.

Christian Huebner, Director of Music, continues his Lenten Series at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, "The Way of the Cross: Faith and Theology through Hymns Ancient and Modern." A light supper of soup and bread follows, then regular choir practice takes place at 7 p.m.

Book Study continues at 9 a.m. Sundays with the group focussing on Karen Armstrong’s "Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life." Bible Study is held at 7 p.m. most Wednesdays at the home of Gisela Robeck of West Brattleboro.

The Special Offering for March will benefit One Great Hour of Sharing, which supports the denomination’s Basic Support of Special Mission Offerings.
