Sermon at First Congregational Church Sunday is ‘Wrestling with God Can Leave You Limping’

WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Aug. 3 is the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost and Holy Communion at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. Sunday worship is at 10 a.m. Pastor Joseph Amico will share a sermon entitled "Wrestling with God Can Leave You Limping" based on Genesis 28:10-19a. Organist, Robert Popple will share a prelude of "Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring" by JS Bach, an Offertory piece "He Shall Feed His Flock" by GF Handel, and a postlude of "Rigaudon from Idomine’e" by Andre Campra.

Congregational hymns this week include "Bring Many Names," "Here, O My Lord, I See You Face to Face" and "There Shall Be Showers of Blessing.

Worship services are broadcast several times during the week on BCTV, Channel 8. Everyone is welcome.
