Sermon Sunday in Newfane is ‘Lifted Up’

NEWFANE -- The First Congregational Church of Newfane will meet for worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10. The Rev. Robert Hamm’s sermon is titled "Lifted Up" with scripture from Genesis, Chapter 37, Verses 1-28. Congregational hymns are "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty," "My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less" and "Give to Our God Immortal Praise."

Music will be provided by guest organist Michael Gould who will play the prelude "Meditation Religieuse" by Schreiner and the postlude "Rigaudon" by Capra. Special music will be provided by Dan Marx on oboe, playing "Plassir D’amour."

The August missions are the Ministers Relief Fund and the Newfane Children’s Christmas. Events for the upcoming week include Al-Anon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sew What’s at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, and senior lunch at noon on Thursday.
