Service of Holy Hilarity will be held Sunday at Newfane’s Congregational

NEWFANE -- A service of Holy Hilarity will be held at the 10 a.m. worship service of the First Congregational Church of Newfane on Sunday, April 27. The title of the Rev. Robert Hamm’s meditation is "Laughter, Jokes and Joy" with scripture reading from the book of Romans, chapter 15, verses 7-13 and from Proverbs, chapter 17, verse 22.

Congregational hymns are "Let All the World," "Joy to the World," "Christ is Risen! Shout Hosanna" and "I Come with Joy." Special music will be provided by Bill Berner and David Roberts singing "You Can’t Get to Heaven on Roller-skates." The prelude, "A Little Song" by Charles Myers, and the postlude, "Festive Song of Praise" by Lani Smith, will be played by organist/music director Martha LaMoria. The church is handicap accessible by both chair lift and elevator and all are welcome.

Events for the upcoming week include Al-Anon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday; Sew What’s at 5 p.m. on Tuesday; bell rehearsal at 5 p.m. and church choir rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
