The New England Youth Theatre presents their summer musical, SEUSSICAL JR, the shortened version of Broadway's Seussical the Musical, which made its debut in 2000. It is a major mash-up of characters and story lines from 17 books by the beloved children's author, Dr. Seuss. His most beloved characters come to life in this high energy, heart warming musical. It is a story of loyalty, perseverance and acceptance with a non-stop fantastic musical score by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. We follow Horton the Elephant on his quest to save The Who's, but it doesn't stop there. We journey through the Jungle of Nool, visit the Circus McGurkus, and even swim in McElligot's pool. Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie LaBird, Yertle the Turtle and many more of your favorite Seuss characters will leap off the page and onto the NEYT stage for this summer's musical. Broadway veteran Alisa Hauser directs and choreographs with Deniz Cordell as musical director. Timeless Dr. Seuss themes abound; a person's a person no matter how small, independent thinkers are wonderful, being different is great, and anything is possible. Suitable for all ages, this is a show not to be missed!
