Shambhala Meditation Center to sponsor talk, ‘Contentment and Discontentment’

BRATTLEBORO -- Shambhala Meditation Center is sponsoring a talk entitled "Contentment and Discontentment in Everyday Life" led by Joe Arak, on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m. The talk will focus on how one can shift their perspective and uncover peacefulness, appreciation, and confidence through the simple practice of sitting meditation. Discussion will follow.

Arak began practicing meditation and studying Buddhist teachings under the guidance of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1974. He teaches at the Pioneer Valley Shambhala Meditation Center in Northampton, Mass.

All are welcome. Chairs and cushions are provided. Donations are appreciated.

The center is located in the Whetstone Studio for the Arts building at 28 Williams St., near the intersection of Williams, Elliot, Frost streets and Union Hill.
