Shueys to celebrate 50th anniversary

MIDDLEBURY CENTER, Pa. -- Bob and Darlene (Miller) Shuey will be celebrating their 50th anniversary on April 11, 2014. The couple were married in 1964 and then moved to Brattleboro, Vt., in 1976 with their two children, Beverly (Shuey) Hawkins and Brian Shuey.

Bob was pastor at the Green Mountain Chapel on Western Avenue for 13 years, then went on to work at Melsur Corp. on Ferry Road, Merillat Cabinetry in Deerfield, Mass., and Tony Farnum Construction in Brattleboro.

Darlene was a substitute teacher in Brattleboro elementary schools, worked for American Greeting Cards in local stores and, most notably, taught piano lessons out of the family’s home to hundreds of area residents, both young and old.

The couple relocated to West Chesterfield, N.H., in 1992, then in 2001 returned home to Wellsboro where they both grew up and were married. They will be celebrating with their immediate family, including all five of their grandchildren, later this summer on a beach vacation.

The family invites everyone to help them celebrate this occasion by sending cards, photos, and memories to 79 Plaza Road, Middlebury Center, PA 16935.
