Siegel, Derosia playing lacrosse at Castleton

BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro Union High School graduates Sam Siegel and Morgan Derosia are both playing lacrosse at Castleton University this spring.

Derosia, a sophomore midfielder, has started one of her team's first two games. The 1-1 Castleton women opened up with a 17-6 loss to SUNY Canton and then defeated Western New England 12-8.

The Vernon resident was named First Team All State for Division 1 during her senior year with the Colonels. She had hat tricks in consecutive games, versus BBA and then Hoosick Falls, that season.

Derosia helped BUHS to the No. 11 seed in the Division 1 girls lacrosse tournament in 2016. Her teammates included Molly Atamaniuk, Ema Baldauf, Alexandra Livanis, Kira McCloskey, Meghan Sargent, Breanna Sheehan, Susanna Strothman, Emma Rueter, Brianna Ogden, Sarah Laporte, Sara Gauthier, Megyn Ayotte, Axis Balsley-Petraska, and Olivia Stent.

The Castleton men's lacrosse team is off to an 0-2 start.

Siegel, a senior attacker, was named Second Team All Conference last season. He led the Spartans with 35 goals in 2017 and was second in assists with 21.

In his college career, the Brattleboro resident has racked up 77 goals, 45 dimes, and 83 ground balls.

Siegel was named First Team All State along with BUHS teammate Colby McGinn in 2014. Brattleboro's Connor Elliott-Knaggs and Kyle Patno were each Second Teamers that season.
