Sixth Sunday of Easter to be observed at First Congregational Church in West B
WEST BRATTLEBORO -- May 25 is the Sixth Sunday of Easter at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. Pastor Joseph Amico will share a sermon entitled "If You Must Suffer, Suffer for Goodness Sake" based on 1 Peter 3:13-22.
Organist and Choir Director Robert Popple will share a prelude of "Battle Hymn of the Republic" arranged by Don Hustad and a postlude of "America! America!" by Robert J. Hughes. The choir will share an anthem of "Blades of Grass and Pure White Stones" arranged by Keith Christopher.
The West B Bells led by Alice McClellan will share "A Simple Prayer" by Linda Lamb. Congregational hymns this week include "Blessed Assurance," "If You But Trust in God to Guide You" and "Be Still, My Soul."
Sunday worship at First Congregational is at 10 a.m. preceded by 9 a.m. choir rehearsal. For those with disabilities, there is a ramp leading to the Fireplace Room level, as well as large-print hymnals and bulletins. For a ride to worship in May call Wendy at 802-254-4522.
Ongoing weekly events include the Prayer Fellowship at 8:30 a.m. Sundays and the Handicraft group on Tuesdays at 1 p.m.
