Softball, Small Fry news
BRATTLEBORO -- The softball season is just around the corner. Gloves and bats are finding their way out of the bag. Managers are checking in with their rosters and sponsors. Old and new players are looking for the right team to join. Here is the information for those in the Brattleboro area who want to be a part of the fun. All meetings are held at the Gibson-Aiken Center.
For the Brattleboro Area Men’s Softball League:
March 19 at 7 p.m. -- Organizational meeting for managers, election of Board members, overview of 2014 season.
April 2 at 7 p.m. -- Review of league rules, division play.
April 16 from 6-7 p.m. -- Collection of fees, rosters and forms.
April 28 -- Start of League play at Upper Field and West River Park.
For the Brattleboro Area Coed Softball League:
May 14 at 7 p.m. -- Organizational meeting for managers, discussion of rules, overview of 2014 season.
May 23 from 6-7 p.m. -- Collection of fees, rosters and forms.
May 30 -- Start of league play at Lower Field, Upper Field and West River Park.
New or old players looking for a team or new teams looking to join either league should contact Brownie Towle at 802-254-2824.
Small Fry baseball
BRATTLEBORO -- On Tuesday, March 18, and Wednesday, March 19, sign-ups for Brattleboro Small Fry baseball will be held at the Gibson-Aiken Center.
All children who are 8-years-old before May 1 and have not turned 10 before that date are eligible to play. Children who will be 10-years-old as of May 1 must try out for Little League.
The fee is $30 for Brattleboro residents and $45 for non-residents.
Applications for coaching positions are also available at the Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department, or during Small Fry registration.
