Spartans are seeking 1st win


BRATTLEBORO >> The Castleton University football team, which is off to an 0-3 start, will host Anna Maria today at 1 p.m.

The Spartans have lost to Plymouth State 20-7, Fitchburg State 34-3 and Salve Regina 49-19 thus far. The team's only remaining home games are today, Oct. 15 versus Husson and Oct. 22 against SUNY-Maritime.

Brattleboro Union High School graduate Soren Pelz-Walsh leads Castleton with 194 receiving yards this season. The senior wide receiver also has a team-high 15 catches, including three touchdown receptions.

Tyler Higley, a senior defensive back from Vernon, has four tackles for the Spartans. He finished with seven interceptions and 27 takedowns a year ago.
