Special Mother’s Day Prayer to be offered Sunday at Methodist Church

Posted

BRATTLEBORO -- Worship at First United Church will be held this Sunday, May 11, at 10 a.m. Scripture from Acts 2:42-47 will be read by Jane Clarke telling the story of the apostles living in community, sharing their possessions and love of God.

The Rev. Cheryl Meachen will preach a sermon entitled, "Communists!" which will explore this scriptural model of a successful, vibrant church. The choir will sing.

A special offering for "Imagine No Malaria" will be taken. On this Mother’s Day, every $10 donation will save the life of a mother’s child in Africa by purchasing a bed mosquito net.

Mementos and photos of mothers brought by the congregation will be placed on the altar for a special Mothers’ Day Prayer.

Contact the church at fumcob@gmail.com or 802-254-4218 or for more information, visit fumcob.wordpress.com. The church is located at 18 Town Crier Drive off Putney Road and is handicap-accessible. All are welcome.
