Tansley named BFUHS student of the month

Westminster >> Elena Tansley has been chosen the February Elks Student of the Month for Bellows Falls Union High School.

Tansley, a senior, is the daughter of Daron and Priscilla Tansley of Westminster.

Dedicated to her academics,Tansley is a strong student who works hard in her classes. Always attentive to deadlines and details, she dedicates herself to excelling in the classroom. She contributes positively and insightfully to class discussions and is not afraid to ask questions. She is generally interested in learning, rather than "just meeting the grade." Tansley challenges herself with strong academic classes, as well as being an extremely involved student. She is a determined young woman and puts in 110 percent effort into everything she does.

Not only is Tansley dedicated to her academics, but she is involved in school and communities activities as well. Tansley is one of the more active members of the Bellows Falls Union High School Student Council. Always willing to help to improve BFUHS and its general community, she has taken the lead on several of the fundraisers this year, including local food and toy drives as well as raising money for muscular dystrophy.

A positive role model in the community, outside of school, Tansley spends numerous hours a day preparing for gymnastic competitions, and when she has a few moments, she is a mentor to younger aspiring gymnasts.

Tansley is a friendly, positive student who is well liked by the staff and students at BFUHS.
