Teens traveling to El Salvador on Feb. 16 to offer childcare during Gallery Walk
BRATTLEBORO -- Members of Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro will gather after 10 a.m. worship on Sunday, Jan. 27, to receive and vote on the church’s annual financial report and to approve the annual budget. The Rev. Carra McFadden will lead worship at the Third Sunday after Epiphany, assisted by organist and choir director Christian Huebner. Michael Mario is the director of Christian Education and Kidz Club meets during worship.
At 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, church members and friends will serve the hot meal at the Overflow Shelter for the homeless, based across the street at the First Baptist Church. Brattleboro Centre for Children is still collecting children’s hats and mittens in the special box provided in the hallway at Centre Church.
On Gallery Walk Friday, Feb. 1, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., the high school girls traveling to the church’s sister parish in El Salvador on Feb. 16 will offer childcare for all ages while the parents enjoy the downtown opportunities and events. Red Cross-trained childcare givers are Kathryn Fecto, Kate Maisner, Haley Marcil, Emma Rueter and Tori Svec. For more information contact Priscilla or Tori Svec at 802-387-2373. The Moment for Peace will be held in the parlor from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and all are welcome.
