Terriers softball prepares for opener

WESTMINSTER - Pete Fry, head coach of the Bellows Falls softball team, would like to see his team win more games. Last year the team finished 4-12 after being knocked out of the first round of the 2013 Division 2 tournament.

With a new season around the corner, the Terriers have been preparing for their opener, which will take place on Monday, April 7 as Bellows Falls hosts Poultney at 4:30.

"We’re looking to improve," said Fry. "We could be .500 or better this year."

To achieve this, the Terriers will need a solid bullpen, and they should find this in Emily Stoddard, Chelsea Wilder, and Murphy Hicks. Allanna Shaw will be behind the dish, Steph Parsons and Steph Green will take care of the infield, and Emily Perry and senior Tasha Long will anchor the outfield. Like last season, slugger Wilder should lead the Terriers at the plate.

Players - Seniors: Tasha Long, Kyla Sevene. Juniors: Chelsea Wilder, Steph Green, Steph Parsons, Emily Perry, Mckenzie Crawford, Morgan Finnell, Allanna Shaw, Molly Dufault, Sophomores: Emily Stoddard. Freshmen: Aly Bashaw, Dakoda Carter, Brooke James, Keri Ticino, Murphy Hicks, Cheyanne Neathawk, Taylor Woronecki. Coaches -- Pete Fry, Russ Hodgkins, Jay Greenwood.
