Terriers stun BUHS
WESTMINSTER -- Brattleboro pitcher Danny Richardson was perfect through 6 2/3 innings on Friday, but the dream outing suddenly turned into a nightmare.
With two away in the seventh inning, Mike LaBeau singled, stole second and scored on Stewart Shaughnessy’s bouncer to the left side, as the Bellows Falls baseball team nipped the Colonels 1-0.
"It was a pitcher’s duel," said coach Bob Lockerby, whose Terriers improved to 8-6 with the thrilling win. "It’s easier to win at home, especially when it’s 0-0. I told the kids it would end on some weird play."
LaBeau fanned eight and walked just one in the complete-game victory. He allowed just two hits -- singles to Chris McAuliffe and Kevin Tao.
