Terriers trumped in playdown


WOODSTOCK >> The 12th-seeded Bellows Falls boys basketball team was trounced by No. 5 Woodstock, 68-33, in a Division 2 playdown game on Wednesday night.

Anthony Mueller scored 11 points to pace the Terriers, who finished up with a 10-11 mark. Shane Clark followed with eight points, while Zack Streeter added five points and also played some solid defense.

Dylan McDonough poured in a game-high 22 points for the 14-7 Wasps, who will face Fair Haven in Saturday's quarterfinal. Curran MacDonald chipped in with a dozen points.

BRATTLEBORO >> The top guns for each team in men's league action on Sunday were: GMC's Chad Austin (23 points), Al's Towing's Chad Mulverhill (11), Brattleboro Ford/Subaru's Kyle Bauer (25), Dixon's Painters Ryan Boyle (34), Pancake Design's Adam Margrave (35), Brown Enterprise's Shawn Goodell (20), Pro-Cut Lawncare's Drew McDonell (19), GS Precision's Jeff Palmer (22), GS Coatings' Zane Bullins (25), and Brattleboro Maullers' Joel Porter (24).

In a women's league matchup on Monday, Lawrence & Lober nipped Lawton's Floor Design 32-29. Brittany Bailly and Christina Hamm scored 14 and 13 points respectively to lead the winners. Taylor Kerylow pumped in eight points for Lawton's.
