Terriers wallop Whitchester, 30-3

BRATTLEBORO — The Bellows Falls varsity softball team exploded for 15 runs in the first inning on Saturday in Bethel and went on to beat Whitchester, 30-3, in a game that was halted after five frames.

Alyson Bashaw finished with five hits and five runs batted in to lead the Terriers. Lila Guerrina, Paxton Santorelli and Emily Stoddard all finished with a pair of hits, while Abbe Cravinho scored five runs.

Winning pitcher Murphy Hicks fanned five and gave up five hits.

Bellows Falls made nine errors on Thursday afternoon, leading to an 11-5 loss to visiting Rutland. Hicks (6 K's, 2 BB) suffered the loss. Bashaw paced the BF offense with three hits and three runs driven in.

The 2-3 Terriers will host MAU on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
