The Choir School set to begin


BRATTLEBORO - The Choir School, led by well-known choral director Susan Dedell, begins its fall session on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. The Choir School is a choral training program for children ages 7 to 12, and is sponsored by the St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. It is and is open to all children regardless of religious affiliation or current level of musical ability. The Choir School offers young singers training in a variety of musical skills needed for choral singing, including posture and breathing, tone quality and intonation, and notation basics for both pitch and rhythm. The children will sing spiritual and spirited music from a variety of sources and traditions, with material drawn from contemporary, classical, and world music in a nurturing and motivational setting. The program is free of charge, and meets at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, located at the corner of Putney Road and Bradley Avenue.
