The gift of drama

BRATTLEBORO -- Vermont Theatre Company announces the second year of VTC Bucks, an easy way to give VTC show tickets as gifts to family and friends.

You can purchase VTC Bucks for any amount by sending a check (write "VTC Bucks" in the Memo line) to VTC, P.O. Box 11, Brattleboro, VT 05302. One dollar buys one VTC Buck.

Tickets for all VTC productions except Shakespeare-in-the-Park, in June, are $12 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors. All tickets for Shakespeare are $5.

For example, if you want to give your parents tickets for one of VTC’s plays this season, send a check for $24 (or $20 if you plan to use them for students or seniors).

VTC sends out the VTC Bucks Gift Certificate for 24 VTC Bucks, then you give it to them and they use it for the play of their choice.

As you, or the people you give the VTC Bucks to, use them, VTC deducts the amount used from your account and sends a new VTC Bucks Gift Certificate for the amount left.

At the end of the season (Aug. 31), you keep any unused VTC Bucks you might have for the next season -- they don’t expire.

Coming up this season, the VTC schedule includes

* "The Woman in Black" on Jan. 18-20 and 25=27, directed by Jessica Gelter

* "Deathtrap" on May 17-19, and May 24-26, directed by Ben Stockman

* "Twelfth Night," Shakespeare in the Park, June 27-30, directed by Robert Kramsky.
