The Grammar School holds 56th graduation

PUTNEY — The Grammar School held its 56th graduation ceremony on June 16, 2016 for the 12 students in the 8th grade. Outgoing Head of School Dan Marchetti remarked on their strengths both as individuals and as a class, and Board of Trustees Chair Peter Eden discussed the importance of their education at TGS.

The 8th graders chose faculty members to speak for them, and also presented their own pieces to the audience of families, friends, and teachers. Individual presentations included music, monologues, poetry, and reflective writing. The class performed two songs together to celebrate their time at the school.

Charlie Acker of Grafton, Ethan Cameron of Walpole, N.H., and Quinn Houston of Westminster West will attend the Putney School; Ella Warner of Putney will be at Miss Porter's School; Liam Fletcher of Westminster West will go to Brattleboro Union High School; Gus Powers of Westminster West and Samantha Quain of Dummerston will take online high school classes next year; Flannery Sheahan, who has moved to Maine, will attend Yarmouth High School; Myles Kaplan of Walpole, N.H., will attend Fall Mountain Regional High School; Valentin Klug of Walpole will go to Kimball Union Academy; Garrett Weil of Chesterfield, N.H., will go to Northfield Mount Hermon School; Matthew Brooks of Chesterfield, N.H., will be at Eaglebrook School.

Founded in 1960, The Grammar School is an independent school located in Putney, serving preschool through eighth grade.
