Third Sunday in Easter season to be observed at Trinity Lutheran Church
BRATTLEBORO -- This Sunday morning, May 4, the Rev. Peggy Yingst will reflect on the day’s Scripture readings for the third Sunday in the Easter season. Her sermon is from Luke’s gospel story of disciples who encounter the risen Christ Easter evening on their walk home from Jerusalem to Emmaus. These travelers notice afterward that their hearts were "burning" within them as Jesus reveals the scriptures and then himself to them in the breaking of the bread. These heart-changing encounters with Jesus fulfill a promise from God for the whole community, from those who have lived a long life to those who are children.
Sunday School for all ages and an Adult Forum on the Bible both gather at 9 a.m.
Trinity meets for worship at 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 161 Western Ave., Brattleboro, across from Holton Home. Trinity is an Open and Affirming congregation.
