Three cars strike same moose in Vernon

VERNON -- Three cars were damaged Sunday night, but none of the drivers were seriously injured when a moose caused a series of crashes on Interstate 91.

The moose was running onto the passing lane around 7 p.m. in the town of Vernon, according to State Police, when it was struck and killed by a Ford Focus. The dead moose was then struck by two more cars, one of which flipped over onto its roof.

One driver suffered minor cuts to her hand but otherwise none were hurt.
