PUTNEY -- How do you get to the Louvre? Via Putney, of course.

This Saturday at 8 p.m., at Next Stage, Yellow Barn opens its 2013-14 season of Artist Residencies with a program of works for violin and piano. In anticipation of presenting the season-opening concert at the Louvre on Sept. 19, violinist Xiang Yu and Yellow Barn alumna pianist Mei Rui will be in residence preparing the works included on their program: Beethoven’s Sonata in E-flat Major, Debussy’s Sonata in G Minor, Brahms’ Sonata in D Minor, two works by Symanowski and a new work by Eric Nathan, which will have its first performance in Putney and then travel to Paris for its European premiere.

Tickets are $12. For information and tickets, call 802-387-6637 or visit www.yellowbarn.org.
