Town building open for walk through today

Posted
CHESTERFIELD, N.H. — The town will be hosting an open house and walk through of the old Chesterfield town office today from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Board of Selectmen has authorized the sale of the building for $1 to anyone who can come up with an approved plan to "re-purpose" the historic building.

Some suggestions have been day care, restaurant, community center, arts studio/gallery, cafe, general store, performing arts center, afterschool programs (it abuts Chesterfield School), and others. During the many community conversations about the future of the building there was also talk of joint ventures with other interested parties or the possibility of a co-op. Also being discussed that day was the newly formed Chesterfield farmer's market and the plan to build a Community Supported Solar farm to offset the town's electricity costs.
