Town Meeting 2016: In Grafton, Gibbs and Sands win contested races

GRAFTON >> Two seats on the Selectboard were filled after contested races Tuesday.

Getting 174 votes, Cynthia Gibbs beat Noralee Hall's 132 votes for a three-year term on the Selectboard. Allan Sands received 191 votes to Matt Siano's 98 for a two-year seat on the board.

School director positions were filled by Sadie Hallock and Edward Bank. Jack Bryar will serve as union high school director.

Also elected were David Ross as moderator, Joan Lake as lister, Gailann Fisher as trustee of public funds, Robert Donald and David Whittall as library trustees, Kathleen Muelrath as auditor, and Kim Record as town grand juror and town agent.

Voters from the River Valley Technical Center District approved of raising $2,777,827. Appropriated for the Union High School District No. 27 was $7,444,027.
