Town, school district meetings set
Jan. 25 is the first day to post warning for Annual Town and Town School District.
Jan. 29 is the last day to file a petition for town and town school district officers, 30 signatures required; the last day to file a petition to be a candidate for Town Meeting member, 10 signatures from candidate's district required; and the last day for Town Meeting members who are candidates for re-election to give written notice to the town clerk.
Feb. 4 is the last day to post Warning for Town and Town School District Meeting.
The Brattleboro Union High School Annual Meeting is scheduled for Feb. 13.
On Feb. 14, early ballots will be available. Feb. 24 is the last day for the town to post sample ballots and voter information for municipal elections.
On March 5, voters may request early ballots.
The annual town and town school district elections are scheduled for March 6.
March 16 is the last day for a candidate for local office to file request for recount.
Brattleboro's Annual Representative Town and Town School District Meeting is scheduled for March 24.
April 3 is the last day for s petition to be filed with the Select Board requesting questions voted at Representative Town Meeting be submitted to voters of the town at large. Petitions requires 5 percent signatures of registered voters or 50 Town Meeting members.
Positions available include moderator, three-year town lister, one three-year term and two one-year terms on the Select Board, one three-year seat and one one-year seat on the School Board and two three-year seats on the BUHS School Board.
District 1 needs 16 members for three-year seats, three members for two-year seats and three members for one-year seats; District 2 needs 15 members for three-year seats, one member for a two-year seat and two members for one-year seats; District 3 needs 15 members for three-year-seats, four members for two-year seats, and one member for a one-year seat.
