Townshend service to be held at Valley Cares Assisted Living

TOWNSHEND -- The Townshend Church’s 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Aug. 10, will be held at Valley Cares Assisted Living.

The Rev. Dr. James A. Scott, retired American Baptist pastor living in Windham, will bring the message, "Don’t Pray While Trembling." Scripture is 1 Kings 19: 3-9. Special music will include favorite hymns and Ravel’s "Pavanne" for flute and piano played by Virginia Kneubel and Alice Gausch.

The Townshend Church has been bringing morning worship to Assisted Living the second Sunday of the month for several years. "It’s a way of reaching out to folks who can’t easily travel on Sunday mornings. We enjoy getting to know the residents in the social hour after the service," said Dick Jackson of West Townshend.

Valley Cares is located on Route 35 just north of Townshend. All are welcome to attend.
