Townshend woman missing since Jan. 30
TOWNSHEND -- The Vermont State Police is requesting assistance from the public in locating 48-year-old Kirsten Palmer of Townshend, who was last seen on Jan. 30. Palmer was traveling with a chocolate lab named Moose in a 2007 blue Honda Accord with Vermont registration FNS314. She stands 5' 7" and weighs 175 pounds, has blonde hair and hazel eyes. Anyone who might have information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the Brattleboro Barracks of the Vermont State Police at 802-254-2382. No foul play is suspected.

-- On Jan. 23, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Canal Street for a report of a fight. Following an investigation, Denise Madeja, 40, of Brattleboro, was arrested for simple assault and disorderly conduct and ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Jan. 24, the Brattleboro Police Department received a report of a trespasser on Royal Road. Following an investigation, Amanda Thayer, 31, and Gregory Martin, 37, both of Brattleboro, were cited for simple assault and ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Jan. 25, the Brattleboro Police Department received a complaint about a trespasser at the Main Street Subway. As a result, Philip Patoine, 27, of Brattleboro, was cited for unlawful trespass and ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Jan. 28, Brattleboro Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Canal Street and found that the operator of the vehicle, Janet Bates, 54, of Brattleboro, appeared to be intoxicated. Bates was cited to court at a later date to answer to the charge.
-- On Jan. 31, Brattleboro Police responded to the Econo Lodge for a reported disturbance. This investigation resulted in Joseph J. Martin III, 48, of Brattleboro, being taken into custody without incident for simple assault and unlawful trespass. He was lodged at the Brattleboro Police Department for lack of $1,000 bail.
-- On Jan. 31, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to the intersection of Elliot Street and Flat Street for the report of a fight between two juveniles. As a result, a 15-year-old male was cited for simple assault and ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Feb. 1, officers from the Brattleboro Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Linden Street for a speeding violation. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Michael A. Norcia Jr., 21, of Brattleboro, was driving under the influence of alcohol. Norcia was subsequently arrested for DUI and will appear in court at a later date to face his charges.
-- On Feb. 1, the Brattleboro Police Department responded to Canal Street for the report of a domestic assault. As a result, Brian E. Moffitt, 38, of Brattleboro, was arrested and cited for domestic assault, two counts for criminal contempt, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. He was ordered to appear in court at a later date.
-- On Feb. 2, Brattleboro Police Department stopped a vehicle on Marlboro Avenue for a minor motor vehicle infraction. After a short investigation, the driver, Ashley Anthony, 23, was arrested for DUI. Anthony was transported to the department for processing then released on a citation to court.
-- On Feb. 1, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Vermont State Police responded to the report of a burglary on Turner Hill Road. Anyone with information or who may have seen suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact state police at 802-875-2112.
-- On Feb. 1, the Vermont State Police received a report of stolen firewood from a season residence on Bonnyvale Road. The theft occurred sometime between Jan. 30 and 31. Anyone with information regarding the theft is urged to contact Trooper Nader Hashim at 802-254-2382.
-- On Jan. 31, at approximately 7:20 p.m., the Vermont State Police received a call from a New York resident advising that she was being followed in her motor vehicle on Route 30 by an unidentified male in an SUV.
Troopers responded to Route 30 and stopped both vehicles, where it was discovered that the following vehicle was reported stolen out of Gloucester, Mass. The operator of the stolen vehicle was identified as Kurt A. Konig, 46, of Gloucester. Troopers believed that Konig was impaired by drugs or alcohol. After completing Standardized Field Sobriety Exercises it was believed that Konig was impaired by drugs. Konig was arrested for operating without owner's consent and was transported to the Brattleboro barracks. A Drug Recognition Expert further screened Konig and concluded that Konig was impaired. Konig was transported to, and lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility as he was unable to make bail. He was ordered to appear in court on Feb. 3.
-- On Feb. 1, at approximately one-half-hour past midnight, the Vermont State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 91 north. As a result, Sarah Barrett, 25, of Bellows Falls, was arrested and cited for possession of a regulated drug and giving false information to a law enforcement officer. She was also issued a written warning for speeding and a Vermont Civil Violation Compliant for driving with a suspended license. She was ordered to appear in court on March 18.
-- On Feb. 1, at approximately 9:50 a.m., the Vermont State Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 100 near Van Lane. As a result, Kevin A. Brochu, 50, of Whitingham, was arrested and cited for driving with a criminally suspended license. He was ordered to appear in court on March 11.
